The exterior is a “ship” itself. Symbolic of Bahraini culture.

The exterior of the Bahrain Pavilion is decorated in the motif of a ship, and visitors can feel the atmosphere of “a country at home with the sea” just by approaching the pavilion. The pavilion is visually striking and has a “photo spot” feel typical of the Expo, which is one of its attractions.

Experience the “wisdom of daily life” with palm-leaf boats and pearl-collecting tools.

Upon entering the museum, visitors will find an array of actual exhibits that convey Bahrain’s traditional culture. Especially eye-catching are the traditional boats made of palm tree leaves and bark, and their models. Also on display are tools used in pearl harvesting, allowing visitors to imagine how people used to live in the past.

Exhibition structure that emphasizes actual products, not images.

This pavilion does not have a video-centered structure, as is often the case in other countries, but is focused on exhibiting actual objects. Therefore, visitors are required to “see and understand” the exhibits properly. On the other hand, those who want to see only images in a short time may find it a bit plain.

Too close to one theme? But the souvenirs are stylish and ◎

Although the exhibits are solid, most of them are related to boats and pearls, and the themes seem a bit one-dimensional in some respects. Although the depth of history is conveyed, one more step of variation might increase the level of satisfaction.
The souvenirs, however, were mostly cute knick-knacks, ceramics, and practical items with a sophisticated image, which left a good impression on us.

Summary|An exhibition pavilion that is just right for a break from “video fatigue

Although less glamorous, the museum has a wide range of actual exhibits that carefully introduce visitors to Bahrain’s culture. It is recommended, especially after visiting the video pavilion, as a “calm pavilion” where you can relax and enjoy the exhibits.
