Recommended for

  • For those who want to experience Turkey’s famous “performance that cannot be handed over
  • People with a sweet tooth who want something easy to eat.
  • People who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the pavilion as well as take commemorative photos.

If you are looking for performance, morning or evening is the right time.

Turkish Ice is located on the right side of the take-out counter in the Turkish Pavilion. The unique feature of this ice cream shop is that when you order ice cream, you will see a unique performance of “pretending to hand it to you but not handing it to you”. When you think you have been given an ice cream, the ice cream is taken away from you with a spin of the stick. The interaction is fun and makes everyone around you smile.

However, during busy times, this performance may be omitted. Depending on the number of staff and how crowded the place is, it may be handed over easily. If you want to be sure to enjoy the performance, it is best to aim for an empty time in the morning or evening.

The taste is light, but the texture is unique!

The ice cream itself is a vanilla type with a moderate sweetness. Its characteristic is its “stretchy” texture, which gives it a chewy feeling not found in ordinary ice cream. The texture, which is hard to find in Japan, is appealing and memorable not only for its performance but also for its taste.

summary

Turkish ice cream is the gateway to the “Turkish cultural experience” at Expo 2010. It tastes good, is reasonably priced, and most importantly, the performance is memorable. The impression of the ice cream varies greatly depending on the time of day, so be sure to time your visit accordingly and enjoy the ice cream that “won’t be handed to you”.
