Oman Pavilion

You can quickly see high-quality images in a short time. While the impression of the exhibition is modest, the nighttime presentation is noteworthy.

Theater experience begins with unique images

The two main exhibits in the Oman Pavilion are a print-length image projected on a 360-degree screen and a screen image that is common at this Expo. The print-length images seem to focus on the country’s origins and landscapes, but the content is somewhat abstract, and the style of the images is for sensory enjoyment. There are few flashy effects, and the atmosphere is quiet and calm.

The other video is a flashy production video, but it is in the style of many of these Expos, so it feels like “here we go again.

Length of stay is quite short.

The museum is compactly organized, and video screenings are short. The exhibition space is also minimal, and the style is one of experiencing the exhibits in a flow rather than looking at them closely. When the museum is empty, it takes only 10 to 15 minutes to complete the tour.

The staff in the museum is mainly Japanese.

Most of the information staff in the pavilion were Japanese. While I appreciated their careful explanations and guidance, I had the impression that the sense of exoticism was somewhat diminished, despite this being an opportunity to experience Oman.

Projection mapping at night.

Although I was not able to see it when I visited, projection mapping is performed on the outer wall of the Oman Pavilion at night. This visual presentation, which takes advantage of the reddish-brown rock walls typical of Oman, offers a different kind of fun than during the daytime.

Summary|Even though the impression is simple, expectations are high for the nighttime production.

The Oman Pavilion is a pavilion that is easy to finish with a short stay. The images are unique and quiet, but there are few elements that leave a strong impression. However, the projection mapping at night is well received, and if you have the time, I recommend that you try to see it. Overall, this is a low-key place where you can feel a bit of exoticism.
