The theme of the exhibition is the sea. Note the structure and the restaurant's course meals.

▷Recommended for

  • Those interested in spectacular thematic videos about the sea.
  • Those who enjoy architectural ingenuity and spatial presentation.
  • For those who want to taste authentic Spanish cuisine at the Expo.

The video is powerful, but the cultural exhibits are modest.

In the Spain Pavilion, there are fewer exhibits that bring Spanish culture and art to the forefront, and the main focus is on sea-themed video works. The images shown on the large screen are powerful and visually immersive, but the content may be a bit lacking for those who want to feel the “Spanishness” of the pavilion. The direction of the message seemed rather similar to that of the Portuguese Pavilion.

The only one at the Expo? Unique way of showing the structure

The flow of visitors through the pavilion is unique, with a staircase at the entrance, followed by a gradual descent while viewing the exhibits. This exhibition style, which takes advantage of the difference in elevation, is not found in other pavilions, and allows visitors to enjoy the space itself. For those interested in architecture and exhibition space, this is a memorable structure.

Restaurant is highly rated for both content and price.

The attached restaurant serves local cuisine from 17 Spanish autonomous regions and 2 autonomous cities in a course format. The cuisine, centering on pintxos and tapas, is authentic and highly satisfying in volume and taste for the price of 5,500 yen, and is well received by word-of-mouth visitors. Many visitors come for the gourmet food, and it is possible to visit the museum for the purpose of enjoying “food” rather than the exhibitions.

Summary|They are not too much like Spain, but you can enjoy the space and the food.

If you go to the pavilion expecting to see Spanish culture, you may feel a bit let down, but the uniqueness of the space configuration, the scale of the images, and the highly rated restaurant are highlights. Although not flashy, this is the type of pavilion at the Expo that you will find “quietly good.
